HAUSAS, YORUBAS AND IGBOS REJECT RILEY’S REINTEGRATION OF TERRORISTS RECOMMENDATION.

Written By Nnamdi Iheukwumere

Indigenous people of Hausa, Yoruba origin have overwhelmingly rejected the Congressman’s weird proposal which recommends a reintegration program of known terrorists as part of a 2 page document presented to President Trump.

Moore himself has erroneously dismissed separatist movements, wrongly stating that "pushing separatist agendas would worsen insecurity and place Christian communities at greater risk."

This statement is ill-advised as the opposite is the case. By focusing solely on religious persecution without acknowledging the ethnic dimensions, the recommendations implicitly endorses Nigeria's forced unity, denying Biafrans the right to chart their own future.

This is not protection; it's paternalism that silences legitimate aspirations for sovereignty, much like how U.S. policies in Afghanistan ignored ethnic Pashtun, Tajik, and Hazara divides, leading to inevitable collapse. Voices from Nigeria echo this sentiment, with some arguing that "the only solution to save Nigeria Christians is to divide the country."

Ignoring these calls perpetuates a cycle of violence, depriving Biafrans of their inherent rights under international law to pursue peaceful self-governance.

President Trump must reject this recommendations not out of indifference to Christian suffering—far from it—but because it offers false hope through inefficient means.

True support for persecuted communities requires empowering local solutions, not imposing American blueprints that have failed spectacularly elsewhere.

Let us learn from Afghanistan: intervention without exit strategies or respect for self-determination only breeds more chaos.

Instead, the U.S. should prioritize diplomatic pressure for genuine reforms within Nigeria, including protections for all minorities, while respecting the voices calling for restructuring or separation.

Anything less is a disservice to both Nigerians and American taxpayers.
